Healthy Escapes in Santa Barbara!
We live in such a beautiful area that offers almost year-round sunshine and warm temperatures. Two things that are conducive to being outdoors, staying in shape and working your mind as well as your body. Try any of these 5 great ideas to stay healthy!
How about treating yourself to a spa retreat at a local resort like the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara (https://www.fourseasons.com/santabarbara/spa/), or one of the many fine Day spas in town, such as my Concierge Partner, Alston face & body, owned and operated by my good friend, Becky Mertlich Albright.
If you want some great exercise, why not schedule a multi-day bike tour? There are some great tour operators around town, such as Trek Travel (https://trektravel.com/), and you can also travel to other local cities such as Ojai and Los Olivos.
If you are into a slower pace of exercise, what about the Japanese art of shinrin-yoku, or "forest bathing"? Walk among the beautiful trees at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden (https://sbbotanicgarden.org/), or with a little more effort, check out the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary (https://www.nps.gov/chis/index.htm). Both of these places will definitely cleanse your soul.
How about going on an early morning hike or watching the sunset while enjoying some good exercise? Here are some great local hikes (https://santabarbaraca.com/itinerary/best-hikes-in-santa-barbara/) for sunrise or sunset!
And finally, how about the Labyrinth Trail at UCSB or the one located at the Trinity Episcopal Church at 1500 State St. Two great places to decompress and unwind.
